INFORMATION FOR GROUP LEADERS
AND WORKSHOP FACILITATORS
Thank you for your interest in Boswedden House
as a venue for workshops and retreats.
We like to prepare a package specific to each
individual group’s needs, but here is some standard information
that will be of use to you in your planning.
Accommodation
Group Space: Our Meditation/Group room can accommodate
20+ for a workshop or up to 50 for seminar purposes. The Lounge
is 6m x 4.75m (19’ 8” x 15’ 7”) and provides a
good space for smaller groups of up to 12. There are also two other smaller
reception rooms.
Because local groups use the Meditation Room on a regular basis, we need to know at least 2 weeks beforehand for what hours you wish to book it. If you require exclusive use of the room during your stay, then the cost is £100 per day. Contact Thelma for an hourly rate.
Bedrooms: 4 large double/twin rooms (6’
double or 2x3’ beds); 3 of these rooms can take an extra bed.
1 smaller double/twin room (5’ double or 2x2’ 6” beds)
1 family room (twin/double bed + full-size bunks that can be separated to
both be on floor)
1 single room
TOTAL BED spaces 14-19
All 8 are en suite and have tea/coffee making facilities.
If you need additional bed spaces, there are
adjacent self-catering cottages.
Our aim at Boswedden House is to provide a peaceful and comfortable environment
in which the body, soul and spirit can feel nurtured.
The standard of décor and furnishings is
good and all the bedrooms are centrally heated. In chilly weather we also
have open fires in the reception rooms. In season, the heated (approx 30° C) indoor swimming pool is very popular.
Alternative relaxation therapies are on offer
and are best booked in advance.
Tariff
We can provide Bed & Breakfast, Half Board,
or Full Board as follows:
B&B, per person per night in a shared room (2013 rates):
£45.00 High Season: July, August & all Bank Holiday Weekends
£40.00 Mid Season: April, May, June, September
£37.50 Low Season:October through March
Dinner – 3 courses + coffee/tea £18
Lunch – 3 courses + coffee/tea £14
Packed lunch £4.00
Many facilitators and group leaders elect to have our special group full board package. We must have a minimum group of 12 to offer these rates.
This includes a simpler vegetarian menu and buffet service for breakfast and lunch with a set dinner menu served family style at the table. For 2013 this is priced at £56 per person per day for low season, £60 for Mid Season and £64.00 during High Season, with a supplement of £5 per night for bank holiday weekends. Organic food requested is £5 per person per day.
We have one single room. If a double room is used as a single, then it is charged at the double rate, but with a reduction for meals not taken.
If all the bedrooms are filled and we need to put an extra bed in one of the larger rooms, then all the occupants of that room receive a £5 per night discount.
If you bring a group of twelve, we offer the thirteenth space free for the leader. If you wish to bring a small group, do talk to us about the possibilities that we can arrange.
We are happy to offer a daily rate for campers and non-residents, either with or without food and request that this is pre-booked to facilitate the catering arrangements:
Campers Daily Rate: £8 per person, excluding meals but including use of house, pool and grounds; £30 per person, including meals at the special group full board rate.
Non-Residents: £4.00 Day Charge, to cover Refreshments and use of Pool and grounds, plus meals as taken: Breakfast £4.00 Lunch £9.00 Dinner £12.00
If you choose the higher priced flexible package then the meal charges for campers & non-residents will be correspondingly higher (Breakfast £4. Lunch £14. Dinner £18.)
Bookings, Deposits and Cancellations
When you know the dates you wish to book, get in touch with us and we will check availability. We ask for a 25% deposit at the time of booking and a further 25% one month before arrival. This can be done with a cheque or debit/credit* card.
Deposits are non refundable unless we are able to refill the vacancy your cancellation creates.
The deposits and balance must each be a single payment. We cannot deal with multiple payees if you make a group booking. The balance must be paid by debit/credit* card or cash (NOT cheque) on the day of departure.
If you have cancellations after you have booked
we will have to charge for the bed spaces but will make a deduction
for the meals not taken providing you give us 48 hours warning.
However if participants arrive late or leave early there will be no
reduction in cost. We can provide you with leaflets from a holiday insurance
company that is very affordable for you to pass on to participants if
you wish.
